The brick building in this painting was the bed & breakfast I stayed in during my hgh school reunion in 2024. Barlheze is one of those awesome old cobblestone alleys in Zutphen close to the river Ijssel that shows the history of this Hanseatic city. Hanseatic cities were a network of merchant towns that linked riverside cities between the 14th and 16th centuries.
